The United States Botanic Garden (USBG) celebrates the vital role of plants in our everyday lives through programs, exhibits and partnerships. There are many ways that you can support this important work --- by becoming a Friend of the National Fund, with a one-time donation, or attending a USBG program.

All members receive an invitation to the private Seasons Greenings winter reception, discounted registration fees for programs sponsored by the USBG, a quarterly USBG calendar of events, and other benefits! First Friends and above also receive an invitation to the exclusive Cocktails in the Garden reception in the spring, including complimentary guest admissions as listed: First Friends (1), National Friends (3), Capitol Friends (5), Wilkes Circle (7).
CHARLES WILKES CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
Contributions of $1500 and above place members in the distinguished Charles Wilkes Circle of Friends. In 1838, Lieutenant Charles Wilkes led the history-making U.S. Exploring Expedition which surveyed the Pacific Ocean and South Seas, and eventually circumnavigated the globe. Among the tens of thousands of specimens collected by the small team of scientists and artists aboard the ships were 254 live plants. These plants formed the heart of what would soon become the U.S. Botanic Garden.
Specimens from the Wilkes Expedition not only formed the foundation of the USBG but also was the catalyst for a scientific awakening in early America. Today, contributions from the Wilkes Circle of Friends sustain the National Fund and ensure that educational programming at the USBG continues to grow and thrive.

MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The National Fund is a non-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. All memberships are tax-deductible to the maximum amount allowed by law. Membership term is 12 months in length. All renewals are effective January 1st, but new members are welcome to join at any point throughout the year. Membership terms will run from January through December of each calendar year.

The National Fund provides a variety of opportunities to contribute to our mission. You may give your friends or loved ones a gift they can enjoy throughout the year. In addition to one-time donations or ongoing monthly contributions, planned giving possibilities include bequests, trusts and life insurance are also options. Donations to support the National Fund, a 501(c)3 organization, are tax-deductible.
